" Eggless Tutti fruity cookies "

All my childhood I was fond of tutti fruity. I always bought Britannia cake just to eat tutti-fruity. It is not that I don’t like the cake but tutti fruity were the reason I ate those cakes. And still I love to eat that. Last year when I saw few people using tutti fruity in Christmas cakes, I had an idea to use it in cookies and simple vanilla cake. But it took me long to bake these cookies because of some reasons. But now when I’m back from a long vacation filled with lots of enthusiasm I feel to bake endlessly. So my first choice was these tutti fruity cookies. The recipe I used is very simple and no fuss. I was bit sceptical of this recipe because there are no eggs, no baking soda and no baking powder. Isn’t it strange? But when I saw the end result I’ve no doubt in it.

P.S. I’ve added vanilla essence which wasn’t there in the original recipe. Sugar quantity is bit high for people like me who don’t have sweet tooth. Same with butter but as usual my better half and his sister like it that way only.

Ingredients

All purpose flour – 1 cup

Butter – 6 tbsp

Powdered Sugar – ½ cup

Milk – 1 to 2 tbsp

Tutti-fruity – 1/3 cup

Vanilla essence – 1 tbsp

Method

1. Preheat oven at 180 degrees.

2. Sift the flour and sugar together and keep aside.

3. Cream the butter and add vanilla essence. Then fold the flour spoon by spoon and mix
well. Add in tutti-fruity and milk as per requirement (I used 1 tbsp milk).

4. Roll the dough into cookies or you can use a cookie cutter.

5. Put them into a baking tray and bake for around 15-20 minutes or till they turn into light
     brown.

Cool it and enjoy at anytime and I’m sure everyone would love it especially kids because of the pretty cute colour peeping out of them.

Enjoy!
