Slowly I gained courage n though it’s my third post but I’m feeling a bit comfortable and I’m writing as if no one’s reading:). Because unlike others I want to remain in my shell like a small snail crawling alone at a vast sea shore.
Today what I want to share is my experience of cooking with 1 tbsp of oil. We Indians mainly north Indians cook in mustard oil. But at times i also use olive oil, vegetable oil and Ghee. It depends on what I’m cooking.
I belong to holy city of Varanasi which’s not exactly in north ;) but see in totality. Mustard oil has many benefits n food cooked in that tastes yummy.
Every geographical area has its own food habits n I appreciate that. I read these lines somewhere “live globally n eat locally” and I found that statement very true. I like to cook in mustard oil mainly because of its strong aroma n taste.
Ok back to 1 table spoon theory, ok ok… u can cheat sometimes:). I adapted this into my daily routine because I wanted to loose some weight. I’ve reduced almost 5 kgs in just 2 months by following this regime and vegetable cooked in that 1 table spoon oil isn’t that bad even. which can be clearly seen in this picture
The 2 secrets are that you’ve to cook it on very low flame to avoid burning and use a non-stick pan. And yes there’s some exercise also because in my opinion if someone wants to loose weight in a healthy way then he/she must include exercise in daily routine. So I do few yoga asanas (ancient Indian ways of exercise) in the morning n burn at least 300 calories per day n this I follow almost 6days/week, because there’s no shortcut to success.
I’ll be sharing few recipes with less oil n even lesser spices which are good in taste also. Till then, enjoy!
