Talk of the town & Husband's post

Cosmos

Wasn't able to write since long so i somehow convinced my better-half [read it pistol on his fore head ;)]  to   write something for my blog. Ok Ok wives are like that only :).
 So here you go....

Even through the closed windows we can feel the winter chill making its due presence in this mid-September gust. Though we are in the comfortable warmth of our room and having the hot delectable Begun Bhaja, we are a bit wary of the fate of newly planted flowers in our Terrace Garden.

Begun Bhaja

The new additions to our Terrace Garden are multi coloured Cosmos flower plants and a few Gladulli which are still sagging after their strenuous travel from Auli’s icy weather to Joshimath’s rude sun within a span of half an hour. Now these still frail newcomers are facing a hostile weather with intimidating thunders and root shakening squalls.

Our Terrace Garden has just took off when unable to withhold her growing enthusiasm, my wife expressed her eagerness to start an Organic Terrace Garden. Till then we had a smaller garden in our balcony with nearly 30 flower pots. We then found an innovative way to expand our Terrace Garden which surprised everyone who heard it.

Portulaca

We live on the 3rd floor of the building and have a single balcony which was already full with flower pots. Our search for any plot of land which we could hire for gardening met with dead end. We then approached our neighbour whose roof top is touching our building at our floor level. Our proposal for hiring his roof top for gardening took him by shock but after a bit of convincing he agreed for the proposal. The initiative brought astonishment to everyone who was roped in for furnishing the Garden – the person who was deployed for cleaning the shabby roof top, the agency which fabricated an iron staircase which enabled us to access our Garden through a window of our building, the vegetable shop keeper who was asked to supply the vegetable crates to be used as planting media and the agency who was requested to supply clay at the roof top. After 15 days our garden is finally ready to host the plants who are now coming in from every part of India and abroad.

Our Garden

All through this journey, the most precious thing I got is the growing satisfaction of my dear wife, her smile and involvement with every growing bit of these plants. These little creatures have brought lots of positive energy within us and as we are trying to give life to them, they are adding life and colour to our lives.
We both are growing everyday with these happy little companions of our joyful journey called life.
